5.00 Salisbury
Fast ground at Salisbury and I hope there is more pace in the 10f handicap than was the case at Sandown last time when GLEN ESK was caught out of his ground and did well in the circumstances to finish a never nearer fourth under Hollie Doyle.
He would not have troubled the well treated winner with a clear run, but he is unlikely to bump into such a well handicapped sort this afternoon and Jack Mitchell – who has been in the plate for all four career successes – is back in the saddle this afternoon.
Note Doyle rides the unexposed Saigon who is fitted with a tongue tie for the first time as he drops back in trip having been well backed on his handicap debut over an additional quarter of a mile last time. A son of Frankel out of a 12f winner, he is bred to be smart, and it will not surprise me if Hollie rides him forward this afternoon.
Recommendation; Glen Esk 2/1 with William Hill

CAIUS CHOIRISTER did us a favour at Yarmouth last time and the form was booster when the runner up – Fast Forward – scored on a return visit to the track midweek beating Another Odyssey who finished third to the selection on his penultimate start. A 4lbs rise looks fair and talented 6lbs claimer Benoit De La Sayette keeps the ride on a filly who I thought was idling close home last time.
Recommendation: Caius Chorister 7/2 with William Hill
